Business Plan Development Workshop by Robert H. Hacker FIUs Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center begins Fall Workshop Series
(MIAMI September 28, 2009) The Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center at Florida International University begins its fall 2009 Entrepreneurship Workshop series with Build Your Company from the Ground Up a full-day workshop hosted by Robert H. Hacker, Managing Partner of GH Capital Partners. The workshop will take place on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 9:00a.m. at FIUs College of Business Complex and is open to the public, alumni and students.
The workshop will be presented by Robert H. Hacker, a local investment banker, adjunct professor at FIU and board member of the Pino Center. Hacker has over 30 years of financial and operating management experience in the U.S. and abroad. He has served as a CFO and COO for 14 years and provided strategy consulting to Fortune 500 companies in Asia for 10 years. He currently manages GH Capital Partners, a Miami-based boutique investment bank that arranges capital and provides strategy consulting to early stage and middle market companies in the Caribbean, Central America and Florida. Hacker is also a frequent blogger on finance, strategy and technology at http://sophisticatedfinance.typepad.com. At the October 2nd workshop, Hacker will demonstrate how to develop a business model and integrate a growth strategy into a business plan to raise capital.
The Eugenio Pino and Family Global Entrepreneurship Center facilitates the entrepreneurial activities at Florida International University. The Center is supported by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and the College of Business Administration at FIU. The Pino Center, directed by Dr. Irma Becerra-Fernandez, has been designated a Kauffman Campus by the Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City.
Each semester the Pino Center hosts a series of full-day workshops geared towards preparing members of the South Florida community with practical tools and knowledge for starting new ventures and improving their businesses. Entrepreneurship workshops are taught by practitioners in a variety of fields and provide attendees with a hands-on approach towards learning and improving their business. The fall 2009 series will focus on the following subject areas: Business Plan Writing, Financial Strategy, Venture Capital, Sales, Innovative Problem-Solving and Marketing Strategy.
