Nearly half of women (43%) surveyed in a recent online poll for goodtoknow.co.uk say their biggest worry when it comes to Christmas food is cooking the turkey.
While only 9% worry about there being enough turkey, 26% panic about cooking the bird, with another 17% fretting about defrosting it too.
This year womens web site goodtoknow.co.uk has stepped in to combat some of those concerns with its interactive Turkey Timer. Decide on the type of bird youre having for Christmas (turkey, goose, duck), how much it weighs and well work out how long itll take to defrost AND cook.
The Turkey Timer is just part of goodtoknows Christmas channel that also includes step-by-step easy videos of Christmas recipes, a budget calculator to help you keep track of your finances, a gift guide and much more.
Goodtoknows editor Jolene Akehurst said: "Christmas lunch is so important that we all have a tendency to cook the turkey for a bit longer than the recipe says, but then you can end up with a really tough old bird! Similarly you can find that on Christmas Eve your turkey might not have enough time to defrost. Weve created this really simple and fun tool to help take the stress out of cooking your turkey. The great thing is you can also add it to your Facebook profile and share it with your friends."
