10 June 2009 British tourists heading on holiday this summer should book their car hire early to avoid being disappointed on arrival at their destination, says market leading car hire price comparison website Carrentals.co.uk.
Demand for hire cars is higher than usual this year, and the website reports that certain locations including Alicante, Malaga, Palma and Faro have already seen demand outstripping supply in some cases. As a result many travellers run the risk of not getting the rental vehicle that they want by leaving their booking too late.
Gareth Robinson, managing director of Carrentals.co.uk says: Theres been a noticeable rise in car hire demand and requirements this year already, so we have seen some providers run out of cars. There has been a reaction from some suppliers in that they have stock remaining due to the economy, but that could change as more people travel.
