Technology PR:

Earth Class Mail Corp., the global leader in delivering postal mail via the Internet, announces FedEx® as its new carrier of choice for forward-shipping mail and parcels to its customers within the U.S.

Earth Class Mail customers -- including small businesses, expatriates, remote workers, road-warrior executives, military personnel and others with changing addresses and mobile lifestyles -- enjoy the freedom of accessing and reading their postal mail online from anywhere, just as they do their email, voicemail and cellular calls. Earth Class Mail receives the customer's mail on his behalf, scans the exterior of each envelope in high-res color and presents the envelope images to the customer in an email alert and in the customer's online account. Then, with just a few mouse clicks, the customer tells Earth Class Mail how to handle each item, from opening it and scanning the contents for his online viewing to recycling, shredding, archiving and forward-shipping it.

Now, whenever an Earth Class Mail customer views a mail item or parcel in his account and requests that Earth Class Mail ship it to him or to someone else within the U.S., FedEx will be the default option for the delivery of the item using any of FedEx's available service levels (e.g., Same Day®, Priority Overnight®, Standard Overnight®, 2Day®, etc.). The customer can also request FedEx delivery of international shipments as a second option to default delivery by the United States Postal Service.

"FedEx was a start-up company in the '70s as Earth Class Mail is today. FedEx changed the world in developing a worldwide logistics supply chain, and we expect that Earth Class Mail's innovative online postal-mail service will similarly change traditional mail delivery," said Earth Class Mail VP of Operations Chris Salvage, who came to the company after a 24-year FedEx career. "We're pleased to bring to our customers the convenience, reliability, global reach and service quality of FedEx when they're having parcels forward-shipped from their online postal-mail accounts."
