San Mateo, California March 31, 2008 -- Greenplum, a leading provider of database software for business intelligence, today announced that former President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of NYSE Group Jerry Putnam has joined the Greenplum Board of Directors.

Putnam has extensive experience in the securities industry and was most recently President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of NYSE Group, Inc. where he was responsible for the Group's market operations, technology initiatives, new products, and information business. Prior to this role, Putnam founded Archipelago Holdings, Inc., an all-electronic exchange based in Chicago, which merged with the New York Stock Exchange in 2006. At Archipelago Holdings, he was instrumental in attracting major investors from the institutional and retail sectors, was a leader in industry consolidation and transformed Archipelago into a public company. At the New York Stock Exchange, he assisted the organization as it adjusted to the rapid changes in the world's equities markets, helping it to establish a global footprint through mergers, partnerships and other alliances with international exchanges. Prior to these roles, Putnam founded Terra Nova, an on-line broker-dealer, and held positions at several financial firms. He is a member of the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame sponsored by the University of Illinois at Chicago, and was named one of Time Magazine's Outstanding Innovators in October 2000.
