Amsterdam September 8, 2008 -- Human Monitoring Ltd. (HM), a leading provider of advanced video and image processing solutions for embedded platforms and PCs, today announced the introduction of a high quality high-definition (HD) stabilizer, based on Texas Instruments' (TI) digital media processors based on DaVinci™ technology.

HM's high quality, XDM-compliant Leonardo™ Video Stabilizer is now available, supporting up to 60 frames per second, 1080p (HD resolution), on TI's embedded processors, including the TMS320DM6467 devices.
HM's Leonardo™ Video Stabilizer solution supports ultra-wide jitter cancellation, scalable-range of jitter frequency, and configurable latency starting from a single field. Leonardo™ offers real-time stabilization while completing the cropped parts of the stabilized stream temporally, avoiding the need for up-scaling. These features, which were once available only to professionals, are now available to a larger number of video content producers as well.

HM's Leonardo™ video stabilizer will be demonstrated at the IBC Exhibition at the TI Booth Hall 1- BM4, on September 12-16th, 2008.
"This solution offers the opportunity to add high quality stabilization within broadcast cameras, allowing for an affordable stand-alone unit to stabilize or, alternatively be added to video servers removing unwanted camera shakiness. High quality yet affordable Video Stabilization for HD resolution is an emerging need in the marketplace, as UGC involves less professional cameras and photographers. Yet HD real time processing is a challenge. HM is well positioned to address the need, due to its inherent algorithmic advantages. We are proud to work with TI in bringing another winning solution to the market," said Ira Dvir, Vice President R&D, Human Monitoring.

"We are excited about the combination of the Leonardo™ HD stabilizer with TI's TMS320DM6467 digital media processor based on DaVinci ™ technology, which enables our customers to enhance their products. TI is committed to helping solve our customers' application challenges and with this new video technology they do not need expensive stand-alone boxes. Instead of these costly units, our customers can now perform video stabilization using just a fraction of a single DM6467 processor," said John Smrstik, General Manager of TI's video infrastructure business. "HM's Leonardo™ turns video stabilization into an even more affordable feature."

"Leonardo™ stabilizer utilizes efficient algorithms to handle wide range motion estimation, yet consuming less than 40 percent of the processing power offered by the DM6467 for 1080p at 30fps. The innovative approach also enables the preservation of the original video resolution, without the need to upscale the image and degrading its quality," adds Dr. Nitzan Rabinowitz, Human Monitoring, Chief Technology Officer.
Leonardo™ Video Stabilizer is now available for the DM6467 digital media processor based on DaVinci™ technology from Human Monitoring Ltd.
