Kaplan University’s Des Moines campus hosted a graduation ceremony on Friday, Sept. 26, for 208 students. The ceremony took place at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines. Iowa State Rep. Wayne Ford keynoted the ceremony.
Kaplan students will be recognized for earning bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, certificates and diplomas in one of 13 programs in the business, practical nursing, legal studies, information technology and allied health fields. Upon graduation, students may be eligible for entry-level positions in their field of study. According to the Iowa Occupational Projections, a report by the Iowa Workforce Development, Labor Market and Workforce Information Division, practical nursing positions are expected to increase by 13.5 percent, medical assistant positions by 33 percent, medical transcriptionist positions by 15 percent and paralegal positions by 22.6 percent from 2006 to 2016.
