New Version of Business Process Simulation Solution De-Risks Projects and Drives Efficiencies for Business Users - in 2D and 3D
Lanner Group, the business process improvement company, today announced the launch of its latest WITNESS solution. It enables organisations to further drive process performance and reap efficiencies through simulating a project in a virtual environment. Lanners new flagship solution is the first in a series themed Power with Ease, which is designed to make simulation easier and more cost effective to use by generic business users rather than the simulation experts or superusers which have traditionally owned this area.
The new WITNESS supports Lanners broader strategy to invest in innovation and develop next generation simulation software solutions, which crucially, do not require in depth simulation skills to operate. When margins are squeezed and budgets limited, it is imperative for all relevant business managers to have access to tools which can maximise productivity and efficiency. However if these require major investment, or absorb valuable resources in training to use them, the benefits can be negated.
This WITNESS release delivers Quick3D, a capability to easily communicate the benefits of simulation to a broader, non specialist audience. It features over 120 new 2D and 3D shapes in the library, from across a range of industries and services; quick 3D camera angle orientation and fly through; simple dialog for customising the 2D to 3D geometry mapping and sizing.
Modelling using a series of 2D plans is often the most productive way to describe both physical and logical content that makes up a typical simulation model. Quick3D has been developed to enable users to rapidly have a 3D view of those parts of the model they wish to see animated. Its both quick and simple, in fact at the click of a mouse, 2D shapes used within a model are mapped to complex 3D shapes for visualisation. For users with WITNESS VR, Quick 3D models can be easily paced within prebuilt 3D models of factories or buildings. It is easy, for example, to introduce and visualise various production layout simulations into a common factory building.
As part of the release, Lanner has developed a set of learning materials to support ease of use and reduce training time. Materials are organised as self-paced learning and most are available online.
