Leading niche jobs board group reports no evidence of recruitment industry slow-down
There seems to be no immediate slow-down in the UK recruitment market, if leading niche jobs boards group Simply Online is anything to go by.
May 2008 saw them reach record levels of revenue, with increasing demands from both recruitment agencies and clients for campaigns on their niche jobs boards.
Traffic for the sites, in terms of impressions, visits and unique visitors, has increased on every site compared to the same point in 2007.
And there appears to be high activity from jobseekers too, with an average of 1400 more applications in May this year than in May 2007.
The success of the websites has lead to the recruitment of four new account managers alone this month to work on existing jobs boards.
Ian Partington, managing director for Simply Online said: Despite gloomy forecasts from economists regarding the recruitment market linked to the impending credit crunch, we are still seeing record revenue levels, strong traffic figures and increasing application rates.
As a result we have needed to take on extra account managers to work with our clients, many of whom are reporting no slow-downs in terms of recruitment needs.
If the second part of 2008 continues in the same vein as the first has done, then we are set to record our most successful year to date.
I think this helps us back up the argument for niche jobs boards both clients and jobseekers alike are recognising the importance of them in the marketplace.
