Technology PR:

Woburn, MA August 26, 2008 -- LogMeIn, Inc. announced today a preview of its new no-download "instant chat" capability for its award-winning LogMeIn Rescue tool, enabling end users to get support -- both technical and non-technical -- without the need of a phone call and without requiring a software download.

LogMeIn Rescue is LogMeIn's web-based helpdesk tool delivering millions of remote sessions annually worldwide. Instant Chat enables the customer to communicate with a support professional without downloading software: the functionality can even be embedded in a webpage, reducing time to contact and potentially increasing customer satisfaction. Instant Chat can even replace phone-based assistance entirely, reducing the cost of the support interaction.

"We believe LogMeIn Rescue has already simplified and lowered the cost barriers of the overall IT support experience," said Kevin Bardos, vice president, product management, LogMeIn, Inc. "Now, with the addition of web-based chat, support professionals can more efficiently communicate with their end users and solve problems, either through chat alone or a remote control session."

This latest addition to LogMeIn Rescue enhances an already comprehensive on-demand remote support solution that gives support providers real-time capabilities for connecting to, accessing and diagnosing remote computers and smartphones, with integrated remote control, file transfer, system diagnostics and other IT support capabilities. With the new instant chat capability, support providers can use chat on a standalone basis or can use it within the LogMeIn Rescue IT support tools.

Like many of the features of LogMeIn Rescue, this new instant chat functionality easily scales to meet the needs of any size helpdesk: it can be custom-branded and integrated directly into a company's website--or organizations can take advantage of Instant Chat through a web interface provided by LogMeIn.
