Technology PR:

Vancouver, BC September 18, 2008 -- MAKE officially released Version 4 of the Transformational Legacy Modernization (TLM) technology platform today, capping 12 months of new development work and testing.

Using a Semantic Modernization approach that incorporates all three dimensions of a legacy system -- business processes, application code and legacy data -- TLM is being used in the public and private sector to replace aging, inefficient systems with well-architected, high-quality Java EE/SOA systems that conform to the demands of today's web-enabled world.

TLM 4 includes more than 2,000 new features and enhancements in toolsets, methodology and support, re-engineering some core aspects of TLM, while also improving its overall quality and scalability. TLM delivers increased performance/scalability, lower risk, improved verification of the modernized application, training/embedding client resources in the modernization team and higher quality modernized code, to name just a few elements.

"This new version of TLM 4 is a real game changer, elevating all of our unique capabilities and adding even more," says Mik Lernout, Director of Technology at MAKE. "We now have a Modernization Dashboard to provide a complete, 360-degree view of both the present case and future case analysis of the project, we have full visibility of the modernized future case business processes throughout their evolution in Phase 2, and we have searchable embedded video walkthroughs of every use case to provide easy reference to reality for the team."

"These are the kinds of capabilities that distinguish TLM from any other approach on the market," continues Lernout. "Not only do we build a 3 dimensional, holistic view of the legacy system, we include that present case in the same repository as the emerging future case design models so that at any point a developer or tester can trace back on a use case, a field, or a code block. Furthermore, because of the iterative nature of our Data Modernization Workbench, we grow the data models organically with the code base so developers are always working with an accurate database, critical to minimizing risk and delivering a quality outcome."

"As an aside, " says Lernout, "people will be able to see and try out our repository in action at Oracle's OpenWorld in San Francisco next week. That would be a great opportunity to check out how it and the rest of the TLM platform works."

MAKE's booth will be located at: 3444 Moscone West -- Intel's Inside Innovation - Space INS 6.
OpenWorld runs from September 21 through 25 at San Francisco's Moscone Center.
