Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles June 6, 2008 -- No question about it: PokerListings.com's live coverage of the 2008 World Series of Poker* on Day 6 was dominated by the heartwarming tales of two Full Tilt Poker pros - David Singer and Erick Lindgren - who both, at long last, captured their first World Series gold bracelets.

Singer - who to make things even more heartwarming is also expecting a new baby any day - finally etched his name on the prestigious jewelry after an extended heads-up match with Jacobo Fernandez in Event 3, $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em.

Lindgren - easily one of the most popular pros on tour - took on likely the best final table in World Series history and dominated it on the way to victory in Event 4, $5,000 Mixed Hold'em.

Both pros have long been considered two of the absolute best in the game but, despite several near-misses, have come up just a little short of the ultimate poker reward - a WSOP* bracelet.

Said Singer in his PokerListings.com post-win interview:

"I'm thrilled. I couldn't be any happier. It's been a long time coming. It's not the most money I've ever made in a poker tournament but it has probably made me the happiest."

Said Lindgren, who along with Singer had often been referred to as one of the "best players without a bracelet," in his post-win interview:

"There's no doubt. It's an old cliché 'monkey off your back,' but that's fine. I didn't really feel it that much, but when I finally won and I put that bracelet on ... there's a lot of history in this bracelet and that meant a lot."

Proving he's also a student of the game and doesn't take for granted those who paved the poker way before him:

"These other events like the WPT and EPT, they're building a lot of credibility too and in fact they're worth more money than I won here today.

"But the history means a lot. Especially with Chip Reese passing, this is a really important World Series for me because he was my hero. If I can do well and 30 years down the line I can have a career that Chip would be proud of, I can be proud of myself."

Complete interviews with both pros, as well as a slew of other top name players, are available in the PokerListings.com player interview section.

Live 2008 WSOP* coverage continues daily at PokerListings.com with updates and photos from all ongoing events, which on Friday involves six tourneys playing out amidst the mayhem of the Vegas summer - including the start of the high-profile $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Six-Handed Event.
