Forming a Liaison Office / Representative Office is one of the best ways to setup business in India if the purpose of business is to represent the foreign company to Indian Clients. The Liaison Office is only a representative office in India and is not liable to comply with most of the Indian Taxes, barring a few. This is a huge advantage as the foreign organisations can focus on the business aspect, instead of worrying about compliance.
Therefore, before setting up business in India, foreign organisations should consider setting up business in India as Liaision Office, to avoid tax compliance in India.
