Los Angeles, CA June 5, 2008 -- CyberCity 3D (www.cybercity3d.com) today announced that the 3D City Model of San Diego's City Center is now available for viewing on Google Earth.

Original Buildings Modeled for Google Earth

CyberCity 3D's use of Google Earth merges CyberCity's cutting edge 3D buildings and city models with Google Earth's ground-breaking ability to put the world's geographic information at your fingertips.

The San Diego City Center 3D city model, created with CyberCity's proprietary software, includes 5,500 commercial and residential buildings covering an area of 15.54 km2. All buildings, which are non-textured, include roof detail and sub-structures.

Centre City San Diego is delineated by San Diego Bay to the west and southwest, Bankers Hill, Middletown, and Balboa Park to the north, Sherman Heights and Golden Hill to the east, and Barrio Logan and Logan Heights to the southeast. San Diego International Airport is just northwest of downtown.

The districts and neighborhoods represented in the 3D City Model include Colombia, Core District, Cortez Hill, East Village, the east district of downtown, which is home to Petco Park and surrounding Ballpark Village, Gaslamp Quarter, a two by ten block night life district in central Downtown, Little Italy, Marina, which is home to Seaport Village, Harborview and Horton District

Following a period of disrepair, Redevelopment plans were created in 1975 for downtown. In 1985, Downtown underwent more redevelopment with the completion of Horton Plaza, the Gaslamp Quarter revival, and the completion of the San Diego Convention Center. The area is now a major tourist attraction and in 2004, Centre City San Diego had a population of 28,586
