Virginia Beach, VA February 19, 2009 Thursday, February 19, 2009 marked a day of reflection, celebration and optimism for 50 members of the SteelMaster family who gathered together in Virginia Beach to commemorate the companys 27th anniversary.
As todays leading global manufacturer and distributor of arch steel and metal buildings, SteelMaster hails from humble beginnings, when it was buoyed by an original staff of only two people. Yet, it was those two individuals foresight and determination that chartered the companys course of success over the next 27 years.
Originating in the southeastern United States, SteelMaster spent its early years developing designs and specifications for steel buildings that would satisfy the agricultural and residential markets such as crop and equipment storage as well as small shops and garages.
During the early 1980s, SteelMaster expanded its vision to niche markets, which included industrial, commercial, military and infrastructure buildings.
The company established its own manufacturing facility in 1989 in an effort to control the quality of their product and develop one-of-a-kind specifications and designs. The manufacturing machinery was designed in-house, producing the precision-engineered arches that have become SteelMasters trademark.
In 1992, the factory invented the "A" model, which has redefined the publics thinking of steel buildings.
With a unique pitch-style roof and straight walls, the A model offers a more traditional look with the same legendary quality of a SteelMaster building and has become a huge success as a build-it-yourself backyard garage or shop for thousands of American homeowners across the country, says Rhae Adams, who along with his 5 member leadership team, operates the company.
