The reader is also shipped with handy Alien RFID Gateway software that enables the user to begin solution development immediately. Power over Ethernet (POE) capability allows power to be delivered over properly-equipped local area networks, eliminating expensive AC wiring installation. A standard AC/DC power converter is offered if POE is not available.
