Vienna, VA October 4, 2008 -- Valhalla Partners announced today that it has made a seed investment in MiserWare, a Blacksburg, VA Green IT startup founded by Professor Kirk Cameron of Virginia Tech. This investment is Valhalla's third seed investment in 2008.

MiserWare is focused on power-saving technologies for computing devices, and represents the commercialization of Professor Cameron's research interests over the past seven years.

"We're excited to bring these technologies to market," said Cameron. "Power-saving technologies are rapidly becoming critical items in the data center, and MiserWare's innovations in this area are going to be significant. General Partner Hooks Johnston is heading up Valhalla's Green IT practice, and sees MiserWare's intellectual property as the foundation for a suite of applications to significantly reduce the power required for enterprise computing.

"When we saw what Kirk had at the proof-of-concept level," said Johnston, "we knew it was a great fit with our seed program, which is all about financing and assisting very early-stage entrepreneurs with breakthrough technologies in our sectors of interest."

MiserWare is Valhalla's third seed investment in 2008, the other two companies being KZO Innovations ( Dulles, VA), an Internet video startup, and Local Labs (New York, NY), a Web 2.0 company focused on location-based applications.
