American Agent Online works similar to an instant message (IM) program. "It's sort of like jumping on Instant Messenger to have a quick conversation before dinner's ready - fast and easy," said Richard Brazil, the President and CEO of American Agent Online Corporation.

In 2006, 87% of consumers began their home-search online. Disproportionately, 72% of Realtors took 4 hours to respond to website inquiries (NAR Annual Survey 2006). "Many agents feel that if they have a website, they're online. But, are they really available to people? We found a better way to meet people's expectations," explained Brazil.

As of May 2008, American Agent Online has about 1,000 real estate agents as members and about 20 to 50 are available during different times of the day to chat. American Agent Online is a "free to the public" website that allows internet visitors to chat live with licensed real estate agents anywhere in America when they are logged into the website. They can also leave a message if the agent is not logged in at that time.
