Shared office space business WorkBar gives Boston artists 5000 sq. ft

Boston MA, Aug 13,2009—In support of the local arts and to encourage commerce within Boston, WorkBar Boston, a shared community office space downtown, has partnered with Alternate Currents and opened as Boston’s newest gallery of contemporary art. Local artwork, all of which is for sale, is on display and covering all of the available wall space including conference rooms and the kitchen, where an appropriately placed painting of a gumball machine greets viewers.

“We want to offer our members at WorkBar a unique experience and have been working with local groups around Boston to establish a valued presence within the Boston community,” said David Ulrich, director of WorkBar. “The artwork not only creates a one of a kind working environment but also gives both our members and the public a place to share, express and enjoy their love of the arts while making valuable connections.”

WorkBar’s gallery, located near South Station at 129 South Street, Boston, gives artists a platform on which to promote their talents and represents dozens of Boston artists. Scott Cipolla, Director of Alternate Currents and head of the gallery, plans on rotating exhibits and featuring new artwork every few months in addition to hosting monthly receptions open to the public.

The WorkBar gallery is open to the public Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30.

About WorkBar

About Alternate Currents
Alternate Currents is a Boston based art group that represents contemporary artists from the local art scene. Scott Cipolla created the group in 2004 to bring together artists from the different areas in and around Boston in order to present one platform for the diverse community.
